Please help a first time grower with fuzzy spots on his second flush
Hi, I’ll try to provide as much information as possible.
I bought this kit from NextLevelSmart, a Dutch website recommended to me by a friend because of its high hygiene standards.
Climate here is quite hot and humid, but the first flush went well. Only a few mushrooms grew, and I think I waited too short a time before harvesting, but everything was fine.
I always sterilize all my tools and wear gloves and a mask when handling the kit. It’s kept in a dedicated room. I air it out twice a day and keep the shutter half-closed to keep out too much light.
For the second flush, I disinfected the plastic bag and reactivated the mycelium in the fridge with sterilized water.
After a few days, new pins sprouted, this time growing more quickly. Some mushrooms soon became very large and reached the right stage for harvesting, but many others still need to develop.
Yesterday, when I opened the bag, I noticed these small grayish-white spots.
There are only a few, and they’re small. Even during the first flush, there was some fuzzy material on the cake, but I think it was lighter in color, and by the start of the second flush, it had already disappeared.
Also, I have to admit that when I tried these mushrooms for the first time (even though I’d already used psychedelics in the past), they were much stronger than I expected. I had a bad trip and pulled the kit out with my bare hands, thinking I wanted to throw it away, but in the end I didn’t. That’s why I’m wondering if it might have gotten contaminated despite the precautions.
Do you think this is cobweb mould? if yes, what should I do?
Also, some mushrooms seem to bending downward, and some have small white spots on their caps (maybe not enough oxygen and too much moisture?)
Thank you in advance
