Donatepasturized Straw help
I have tried a few attempts of growing mushrooms in pasteurized straw using Hydrated lime. I added 2 table spoons per 5 gallons and the ph was 8.0 , a previous attempt I had a ph of 9.0 but I didn't measure the lime. Now I saw some people using 1 TBS per 5 gallons saying it worked for them. So what is the right amount? Do i need a ph meter, or can I continue using ph paper?
