Shiitake RL-7 on sunflower shells and on macadamia shells experiment

Got a fresh mycelium of Shiitake RL-7

Mostly it will go for outdoor inoculation. And part of it I cloned to the jars for experiment.

I boiled shells (separtely) in water and let them stay to soak water. Then I prepared 8 jars - 4 with macadamia shells and 4 with sunflower shells. And made a dual sterilization. When all cooled down I inroduced mycelium to the jars to have more mylelium spawn.

Mycelium on sunflower shells (right jar) boosted and developed quickly. Macadamia shells (left jar) show much less development. Seems that just do not hold enough water inside.

I will add some water periodically to keep it wet. Will see how it will go

A month and a week passed Mycelium fully colonized sunflower shells, will rehydrate it and make a small grow. Mycelium on macadamia makes a prgress, but still very slowly, lack of water (added several times) and hard shell make the process slow.

Another week and I have small harvest from jars on sunflower shells. 50g from 2 jars, 2 another jars are not fruiting jet
