P. Natalensis / Ochra fruiting question
first time natalensis attempt. Got as far as substrate colonization, developed the thick overlay across whole surface as i see is common. followed soms archived shroomok advice to remove the layer, and apply a non-nutritive peat moss case layer. i was missing an ingredient for the casing layer buf had already removed the overlay layer from both colonies so i misted them down good and waited for ingredient to arrive in mail. now three days have passed, i have the ingredient. However--i see one single pin/mushroom now on one of the colonies. my question is--should i still create and apply the peat moss layer, even though i now see the one pin?

Hello MagneticMyco and welcome on forum!
Regarding your question, if the pin less than 5mm you can keep it, if more - remove it and apply casing layer.
Btw, thick overlay can be harvested, dried and used as mushrooms ;-)

Could you pls show me your cake(s) with Natals/Ochra? Maybe I'll find smth more after checking it out ;-)
