Can't get identified
Growing in my yard, only the top is above ground, 2-3 found in each location. can you name them and eat them?

Haha, nice one! At first glance I thought it's a cow manure or radish or big potato :D
It reminded me about my finding a couple of years ago... Did you try to push it? Did it release a dust-like-cloud of spores?
Most likely you picked one of puffball species. Quick reference:
1. dyeball or dead man’s foot https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pisolithus_arhizus
2. however, it can be confused with earthballs like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sclerodermataceae
Edible? NO! Don’t eat 'em and avoid inhaling the spore dust! Cut one outdoors (wear a face mask and gloves). If the inside is dark or sooty, or consists of tiny granular packets, it’s a dyer’s puffball / earthball. You can leave them in your yard. They are harmless outdoors and can even be mycorrhizal with plants.
True edible puffballs are pure white and uniform inside when young. Here is an example Calvatia gigantea aka giant puffball:
