Trouble distinguishing

First time grower. About a week into fruiting phase. Took photos before misting

Hey, your mushroom cake looks healthy and just fine!

You might be a bit concerned about the different mycelium appearance (some areas look slightly grayish or more fluffy), but that’s completely normal. If you used a spore syringe for inoculation or non-isolated genetics, it’s totally expected to see a mix of mycelium types on one cake.

Good news you already have tiny white knots, which will turn into bigger primordia within the next 5–10 days. Most likely your first shrooms will appear here (see photo):
