Hi Max! Let's start a new chapter in your mushroom cultivation journey 🤘

Have you already inoculated your bags with liquid culture? What is the weight of your bag?

If your room temperature is between 20°-27°C, this is favorable for colonization, so** just wait**. At temperatures between 20- 23°C, the process will be slightly slower, and at temperatures between 24-27°C, it will be slightly faster. But this is not critical. Depending on the weight of your bag, temperature, and genetics, full colonization takes about 2-6 weeks...

Show me your bag when it will be colonized by ~30%. We'll see what to do next ;-)

so unfortinually one of the boxs had been contaminated i think this is due to the box coming damaged i said to the supplier (zamnesia) that this has happened and they said to just try inoculate the box anyway so thats being sorted

however the other box seems to be okay no contam as of yet this is after going on 2 weeks now

first 3 photos are contaminated (penis envy) last 3 photos are okay at tye moment just no mycelium McKennaii

Unfortunately, if the box/bag/jar is damaged, the chances of contamination are extremely high, I'd say 99.99% :-(

Throw away the contaminated box immediately!

To be honest (even without being contaminated) this type of grow kits are of very poor quality! Anyway, let's give McKennaii a chance and see how it goes... I'm not very optimistic though.

The all in one bag looks good👌
When did you break and shake it? How long ago?
Try to increase the temperature (about 25°C) – this will speed up the mycelium growth

hi mate appriciate the honesty do you have a rwcendation for grow bag sites

and i broke and shook about a month ago and jts only at this stage now do you think a heat matt would increase the speed?

Hi mate! Sorry for the late reply.

  1. Higher temperatures (~25°C) increase the colonization speed. But don't place the bag directly on the heat mat! Place the bag on a rack (to create a few cm distance between the heat mat and bag) and put the heat mat underneath it, so that the heat is distributed more evenly.

Or make a simple incubator box and put any heating element (e.g., shoe dryer or heat mat) inside.

Incubator for growing psilocybe cubensis

Or place the heat mat from the side. Just a few examples:

Incubator for mushrooms with heat mat

My incubation chamber went through 2 evolutions today - details in description
  1. Tinctures? Do you mean tincture made using cubensis mushrooms?

  2. The first signs of growth are usually visible within the first 2 weeks after inoculation with spore syringe. I'd wait another week (4 weeks in total) and if there are no signs of mycelium –> most likely something wrong with your McKennaii growkit. Probably, this is a sign, that it's time to start making bags/jars by your own. It's easy and possible even without a pressure cooker ;-)

Thank you, mate 🎄

To be honest, I'm not happy that I was right regarding your growkits lol

Keep me posted on how the bags are progressing ;-)

Home made extraction is a bit tricky because psilocybin, and especially psilocin, are unstable. So it's not as good as, say, reishi, chaga, or lion's mane etc. tinctures in terms of preserving the active ingredients. Anyway, we can try and test it. I'll share the recipe and ratios with you later, okay?

Wishing you happy holidays and a new year full of peace, insights, and good moments 🎁

Hi mate! There are a few causes of stalled mycelium. In your case:

  1. most likely gas exchange issue. I don't see an air filter in your bag. Is it airtight? Or maybe air filter clogged or wet and doesn't allow the gas/air exchange.

If you don't have an air filter you can make DIY filter stuffed with polyfill like this:

You can find details in my post here: https://shroomok.com/forum/mushroom-cultivation-report/2/day-to-day-reishi-growing-diary#post_3

  1. very dense compressed substrate, that doesn't allow the mycelium to spread. I'd break and shake it again.

  2. less likely mild bacterial contam. Do you smell any sweet-sour odor coming from your bag (or through the air filter)?

i thnk your correct in the first one 100% the air filter was clogged ip and tied around the zip tie so youd be right

also just throwing out my tub from the other day which was contaminated and theres mycelium growing ive had my money back already would you say 100% that its the fact that the box came broken as to why its contaminated
