Amazonian Krinkle hybrid
I combined spore isolates of both Kros Krinkle and Amazonian into some LC broth to make a fun/unique grow, ot had a shaky start with tons of metabolite production early on after injection into an all in one bag from Booming Acres. should be ready for harvest in a week or less, fingers crossed.

Awesome! Such rich pinning, they look really interesting.
Could you pls clarify here?
I combined spore isolates of both Kros Krinkle and Amazonian into some LC broth to make a fun/unique grow...
Did you just put spores from 2 different strains (Krinkle & Amazonian) into the same LC medium? Or did you cross monokaryons of 2 different strains on agar and then make an LC from that cross?
Is this the same grow bag "with tons of metabolite production"?
Thank you for sharing your experience. Excited to see more updates🤞

sorry for the late reply! I put spores from the 2 separate strains into the same LC vial(boostr/cloning vials from Northspore, they haven't let me down yet) and for the first week after injecting the LC into the bag, it made a startling amount of amber fluid, I genuinely thought it was bacterial at first. Anyways, I harvested some of the complete coral peices, none of the pins seem to be turning into actual mushrooms and also seem to grow quite slow. head spinning potency from the ones I collected 😁 will give the block a few more days and see how much larger those formations can get.

This is a common wishful thinking: if I mix spores of 2 different strains I get a cross :-)
But it doesn't work in this way. If you just put spores from the 2 separate strains into the same LC vial – you won't get a hybrid.
As a result, 2 strains will grow in one media/substrate. Or only one of them will prevail and produce fruits
The same as here – 3 different storier as an example: 2 strains in 1 cake
Making a stabilized hybrid/cross is much more complicated process and takes a lot of time...
Anyway, let's see what comes of your mix :-)
Keep growing and keep learning!

update time! I was checking on the block and found gray powdery mold on the bottom, the cubensis mycelium for whatever reason never colonized a small spot down there, so I cut about an inch and a half of the block completely off and immediately harvested what I had. afterwards I let the block soak in bottled spring water for a few hours and put it back into colonization mode for a couple of days...I expected to lose it but it rebounded and is now happily pinning again, with a brain and coral peice standing out from the rest. I decided to put a paper towel down for it to sit on, seems to have helped it. when putting 2 different strains into an LC and letting them consolidate for about a week, its not a true hybrid, but I was under the impression that some of the fruits produced in the block could have phenotypes from both strains(depending on a few factors like how aggressive certain strains are and how much sectoring occurs) I noticed that some of the larger brain/corals were beige while the spikes remained mostly pale, fascinating stuff either way. and thank you for your advice 😁

Wow! Your coral-like and brain-like pins/fruits look so nice. And I think they are all Krinkle strain shrooms 🙃
Yes, uncolonized areas are tend to be contaminated. Usually cutting off the contaminated area doesn't help, but fortunately it worked out well in your case ;-) You can also use a paper towel soaked in H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide) in order to treat/prevent contaminated area, but you don't need it if the block is healthy now.
Thank you very much for the update, I appreciate it!
Would be great to see more updates as they grow and change in the nearest days...
