Airated LC experiment. Liquid Culture aeration tek
Airated LC experiment begins today, about to inoculate these modified jars. I just want to see how mycelium grows when under constant airation.

Any updates? How did the constant aeration work?
Hey there
Just checking in on your experience with LC under aeration.
This experiment was shared by member of Shroomok Discord community:
- What's your airation parameters? Aka gas
- Grower: Sterile air to begin with. Built a box with HEPA filter and UVC bulb in it and put aquarium pump in there.
All will be inoculated from the same plate. 3 will be airated. 1-24/7, 1 - 2/7 and 1 - 3/7
- So what's your negative control?
- Grower: 2 will be control one of which has stir bar. And one will be untouched. I had a 6th but lost him in the PC.
- You should do one O2 airated one airated, one Co2 airated and one untouched. I would tell you airation prob won't help but that's not the spirit of science.
- Grower: O2 setup is still coming. Need to find 02 tank. I have cO2 but no O2 atm. Need to also build Seperate boxes for that... Initial experiment was done on a budget.
- Fair enough!
- Grower: Also thinking about it I don't really want to know if O2 works... Because if it does it will be expensive. Unless I make a little eltro O2/hydrogen generator 🤣
- I mean if it works it's cool and good to know but not like a dealbreaker. I.e if it works, good to know. But like also you could just wait a little and you'll get the same result ya know.
- Grower: The impatient gremlin in my head would always know. Now I wait. First thing to notice is bubbles are an awesome agitator. See next photo File:lc-with-aeration-now-i-wait-want-to-see-how-mycelium-grows-when-under-constant-airation-by-cokeeffekt-6c3328'>here
~ 1 day later~
Grower: Woke up to my first failure this morning with the airated LC experiment 😞 turns out the humidity here and the air pump = lots of moisture in the lines which is saturating and blocking the syringe filters In the top of the jars.
I'll need to make a moisture trap inline
