User: Is this contamination? I did not stir this for a week and it formed a layer at the top which has broken free at the edges and starting to settle. Thanks in advance. trippy answers: Imo that’s definitely contam. Black dots are a giveaway. Looks too thick to be myc as well. User: That’s what I’m afraid of as well. I could go to agar but I’m not sure it’s worth wasting the plates. Mycelia P: The cloudyness of the liquid culture broth is another give away of contamination
