Such a cool experiment for oysters. Rye grain on bottom, topped with hardwood pellet, wheat bran and gypsum mixture for substrate - more in description
This has been such a cool experiment. You can really see the difference in strength throughout the mycelium. Soft fuzzy white mycelium on the grains to the reaching root like mycelium. Ps all other jars were shaken at an earlier stage and still very strong, those will most likely fruit first due to the sped up colonization process from shaking the jar. This has just been to cool to watch so I left one to just do it’s own thing. This is roughly 6 weeks of growth from liquid culture derived from previously harvested elm oysters back in Oct-2022. - Rye grain on bottom, topped with hardwood pellet, wheat bran and gypsum mixture for substrate.
